Specialist Advice
In some cases, all that is required is simple advice. For many people,
their symptoms do not indicate a serious health problem or a danger and in these cases, simple advice and reassurance may
be all that is needed. Others may be worried about the possibility of complications such as phlebitis, bleeding, varicose
ulcers or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). In these cases, The VeinCare Centre specialist will take a thorough history from
you and assess your vein condition. Based on this, he will be able to give you advice about your concerns. If intervention is needed, you will be advised of the options such as Laser (EVLT), VNUS Closure, Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy or combination treatments
The VeinCare Centre can advise you about medical compression hosiery, precautions
to avoid traveller’s thrombosis (“economy class syndrome”), and general advice about the care of your legs.
Before going on a long haul flight, consider wearing medically approved
anti-thrombosis stockings. The VeinCare Centre can advise you.

Self Referral
A referral letter from your General Practitioner is not required. With
your agreement and in line with Good Medical Practice, your Specialist will keep your General Practitioner informed about
your consultation and any treatment that you have.
The specialists at The Veincare Centre are recognised by the major private
medical insurance companies (such as BUPA, WPA, AXA-PPP, Norwich Union, Standard Life and others) and in most cases you will
be fully reimbursed for the cost of your treatment. However, if you do chose to use your insurance, you will need a referral
from your family doctor and you are strongly advised to check costs and your level of insurance cover before embarking
on treatment.
For those without private health insurance, The VeinCare Centre can offer
fixed price quotations and a standard scale of fees that makes private treatment affordable. You will be provided
with a written quotation before making a decision.
